The truth about chemical peels

Hi Everyone, welcome back to our blog! ??

Weve had a lot of questions recently about our AlumierMD Chemical peels, so we thought it might be a good idea to write up a post with loads of information for all of you who are interested! We are so happy to be aligned with an incredible company like Alumier, their brand story and culture lines up really well with our own so we feel like a perfect fit for each other.

Both ourselves and Alumier believe that there isnt a one size fits all treatment that works for everyone, results depend on an in-depth analysis of every patients skin and a unique treatment plan created for each one, this is why we offer a free consultation with one of our skin experts to all of our facial aesthetics clients. We also believe in using only the best products, ingredients and treatments on our patients which is why we love Alumier so much. All of their products are free from parabens, sulphates, petrolatum and dyes, their packaging is recyclable and a big plus for all our cruelty free girls & boys reading this, they do not test on animals!

Now, finally, onto the chemical peels! We know the word chemical sparks fear in the minds of many, but dont worry because these treatments are extremely safe, especially in the hands of our expertly trained skincare professionals! We also often get asked ‘Will my skin actually peel?’ The answer is – we don’t know! As everyone’s skin reacts differently to treatments we can’t say for certain that you will definitely peel, however this does not mean you won’t see the same benefits as someone whose skin does peel after treatment, as much as your skin is unique, your results will be unique as well.

There are 3 different types of Chemical Peel, Superficial, Medium and Deep. These classifications depend on the depth of penetration of the ingredients being used. Superficial peels exfoliate various levels of the epidermis, medium-depth peels treat through the papillary dermis and deep peels can treat all the way to the mid-reticular dermis. The strength of the peel is determined by the ingredients used, their concentrations and the PH of the formulation. Chemical peels are applied in much the same way as a normal facial and can be a lovely relaxing indulgent experience. They do however work even better than a normal facial, by causing intentional damage to the epidermis and/or dermis with the goal of stimulating new tissue to improve skin texture and tone.

Alumier chemical peels are the ultimate treatment for those with specific skin concerns such as Acne, Rosacea or pigmentation. A unique complex of ingredients decreases the visible signs of ageing including fine lines, wrinkles and hyper-pigmentation like age spots, discolouration and uneven skin tone. AlumierMD peels also target acne by unclogging pores and calming irritation and redness.

Again, focusing on the unique nature of different skin types/skin concerns Alumier have created incredibly customisable treatments. Their professional peels include The Glow Peel, Vitamin A boost, Detox Clear, Radiant 20/10 and Radiant 30. This is along with Professional treatments such as the Aqua Infusion mask, Deep Moisturising Mask, Enzyme Treatment, Refining Clay Mask and the Eye Rescue Treatment. Each of these is available as a treatment on its own, or as an add on to your chemical peel, creating a fully customisable plan dependant on the needs of your skin.

If you are in the market for a treatment which combines both relaxation and high performing active ingredients to address your skin concerns then Alumier Professional Medicated Luxury Facials are the treatment you need. These treatments include Redness Relief, Skin Soothe, Age Defence, Brightening Booster, AHA Hand Treatment and the Acne Relief Treatment. The height of luxury and relaxation, these treatments include a facial massage, lymphatic drainage and pressure point massage that will help release toxins in the skin and soothe pain, while relaxing the body and mind, leaving you looking incredibly radiant and feeling refreshed and balanced.

If you want to know more why not book in for a free consultation with one of our skincare specialists. At your appointment we will do an in-depth analysis of your skin type and recommend a personalised treatment plan to address all of your concerns. We will create a program that combines professional treatments with home care products as they work synergistically to improve the health and beauty of the skin. The use of pre-treatment products helps to pre-condition the skin which accelerates results & minimises the opportunity for complications whilst the use of post-treatment products again minimise the opportunity for complications, soothe the skin and then maintain the results. Combining professional treatments with your home care products will result in the best possible outcome for your skin.
